Beginning Monday, Oct. 6, the City of El Dorado will begin roadway improvements on Central Avenue from Jones Street to Haverhill Road. The project includes milling, resurfacing, updated pavement markings, and drainage improvements designed to extend the life of the pavement. Work is expected to continue through October.
Traffic Impacts
- Lane Closures: One lane of traffic in each direction will remain open throughout construction, but drivers should expect narrowed lanes and shifting traffic patterns.
- Delays at Haverhill Intersection: In addition to resurfacing, crews will replace storm sewer structures and install underdrains at the Central & Haverhill intersection. This work will require lane shifts.
- Business and Residential Access: Access to all properties along Central Avenue will remain open; however, temporary restrictions may occur as crews move through the corridor.
In addition, there will be asphalt repair work on the outside westbound lane of Central Avenue from Star to Denver next week.
