UPDATED 8-27-24: The temporary signal on East Central Avenue will be removed at about noon today (8-27) and Central will go back to one lane in each direction in the southern lanes. In addition, Griffith Street will be opened back up on the south side of the intersection.
8-20-24: The temporary signals on East Central Avenue will once again be in place and active late this afternoon (Aug. 20). Today, a shoofly (a temporary short routing around the construction) is being constructed on the north side of Central Avenue in front of the movie theater. The temporary traffic signals will control one lane for both directions through the shoofly. We anticipate this will remain for one week while the storm sewer box is excavated south across Central Avenue and the pavement restored.
